Technically, it’s limestone.

Today’s home finds an intersection of money, class, and nature; It’s got a touch of antique design, the wealth of present day, and a giant rock from centuries ago.

Welcome to Berkshire, MA, where the estates are “boulder” than the rest:

Located in nearly 60 private acres of land, this one-of-a-kind, 1997 estate gives you 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, within a mere $2.6 million dollar pricetag.

According to the listing, this is not a “living room” -it’s the “Great Room.” With its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, wood stove, and French doors… it seems grand, but nothing greater than a typical pricey living room.

Sun room? Think again. This is a “screened porch” that’s been canopyed above the surface so your views are within the branches, not the trunks. Its panoramic views of nature would be the perfect backdrop for a dinner, celebration, or a quiet place to watch Tiktoks by yourself.

For such an expensive, high-end home, they give no attention to the kitchen in the listing. Like, there’s probably a story behind the embossed porcelain sink… but we get no info on it -or anything in the kitchen.

“Primary” bedroom, in this home, means that it has all the fix-ins. That includes model lambs.

Besides the heaps of space the room offers, there’s an attached living space that even extends to its own private outdoor patio.

Never got the memo that “His and Her’s” floating sinks, next to the clearest shower glass you’ve ever seen, looks “good” together. Hm…

Here’s a quintessential example of how the theme of “new” and “old” money comes to play: within the bland grey walls of a standing-tub en-suite bathroom, the bath mat is an ornate rug. Yes, the rug fits in with the aged art of the home… but HUH? You’re telling me your dirty, soap bathwater is getting all over THAT? No thank you.

At least, you get this walk-in closet / try-on space with a chic red chair.

Other bedrooms of this property have a similar artistic flair and wealthy oddities:

One bedroom has a cat’s scratch post as a light, one hinges on rustic Americana, and one is just… kinda boring.

Outside, a pebble pathway guides you around the perimeter of the home. There, you can take in the angles of the home architecture, as they transport you to the crème de la crème of the home…

We’ve made it to the rock quarry -that doubles as an outdoor pool.

Genuinely breathtaking. This looks like it belongs in a private resort in Fiji, but instead it’s in Western Massachusetts?! Not only is it a natural marvel, but its sheer size, 16-foot waterfall, and one-of-a-kind existence take it over the top.

My only fear would be cutting my foot on the side of a rock. Or two rocks. Or three rocks.

I’ve never seen a pool quite unique as this. Here’s to hunting for another crazy find next week!
