Diving into 2024!
The new year is here, and with it, a new me! And I’ve been dying to share this news with you – Zillowtastrophes is now Homes.tastrophes, and I’m diving headfirst into 2024 with an awesome year-long collab with Homes.com! I’m beyond thrilled that, as of today, all the jaw-dropping listings we're flaunting in our wild escapades will be exclusively plucked from Homes.com.
Now, let me give you the inside scoop on why Homes.com is the heartbeat of our home-search universe. As a content creator, it's my passion to share these unique listings with you, and Homes.com's incredible search engines allow me to easily find unique and quirky homes that resonate with my offbeat taste. It also offers the most dynamic experience for buyers, sellers, and all you real estate enthusiasts out there. I’m a huge fan of their neighborhood exploration tools, and it even lets you pick your own preferred views! It's truly a match made in real estate heaven!
Today, we’re headed to southern Wisconsin for a home that was built in the early oughts but has a crazy New England Gothic vibe, and what’s inside doesn’t match the exterior at all! After that, I’ve got some 🪵Lovely Lodges, three homes that come with their own 🔭Out-of-this-World Observatories, some 🤏Pint-Sized and Over-Priced tiny homes (costing thousands per sqft), and finally, some🛢Surprising Silos (circular homes built from old farm storage.)
On to the main event… priced at $3.5m, it’s got 10 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and is currently used as an Airbnb superhost site renting out at about $1,300/night. At 8,400k square feet, it can sleep more than 20(!), which makes it a great place for family reunions, group retreats, or even starting your own cult.
Introducing…⭐Starlight Tower Manor.
First, two entertainment spaces–the living room, which the listing says can seat 27 people or more for movie nights (or, as the Airbnb description says, push the furniture to the side and make it a dance floor!)
And this enormous game room, which, FYI, is ridiculously well-appointed, with a pool table, skeeball, pinball, air hockey, ping pong, arcade games, and so much more. Just make sure you have quarters handy for the vintage games.
I think this would be an epic place to ride out the next global pandemic with your 26 closest friends.
Now, I do not love the dark cabinetry and flooring in this kitchen, but with bar seating for six and lots of counter space, it's great for large groups.
Since it’s being used as a short-term rental, the bedrooms are clean, neat, and fairly boring. Most of them have two queen beds, so you can really pile in the guests.
A couple of them have theme decor:
This one has what I’ll call a ‘“‘Murica” theme…
And this one has a somewhat sad attempt at an island theme.
And two of the bedrooms have kitchenettes for the introverts of the group.
But now, for the wildest part of the home… the staircase, which stretches continuously from the first to the third floor, beginning at the front entrance and ending in the game room. It reminds me of an M.C. Escher drawing…
If you can figure out your way through this stairway maze, the landing on the second floor will lead you into the tower …
Let’s look at all the tower nooks!
There’s a sitting area/home bar…
The observatory room, complete with three telescopes…
The “Rock Star Room”… (it says so on the rug…)
And an exercise room at the tippy-top, as if walking up all those stairs wasn’t enough of a workout:
Outside, on three acres, you’ll find a firepit, decks for grilling on summer evenings, and there’s even a boat house and boat launch so you can get out on the Bark River leading out to Lake Koshkonong.
So what do you think, friends? Is this manor for you?
‘Til next time!
