What’s up, friends?
Today’s home is taking us to the beautiful mountains of (30 mins north of Missoula) Montana -where the trees are tall, and the surface elevation is ever higher! Due to said altitude, I fear the less-oxygen-in-the-air is doing something to my brain… because, in some room of this home, you’ll recognize modern components. But, in others, you’ll feel as if we stepped into a time machine that took us back nearly 40 years ago to 1987.

Located in Arlee, MT, this property has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 3,776 sqft. Don’t be misled by this (first) picture: this home is NOT located on the coast of a large body of water. It’s just a cleverly-angled photo of the “large private pond” on the MASSIVE 7.23 acres that this property entails. Plus, for all that land, the price tag is a total deal: $1 short of $1.6 million, at $1,599,999.

We’re in the middle of nowhere so, obviously, we need a grand front gate to commemorate entering the property. It’s like saying “Congrats, you’re no longer on a random dirt path anymore! Now, you’re on my random dirt path!”

Travel up the curvy driveway to multiple points of interest: a stone path to a front door, a patio to a different front door, and… brace yourself… so many garage spaces:

How many cars can this home house? Well, there’s a primary 2-car garage, but there’s also a 36×55 shop to store larger vehicles -even your tractors. Moreover, there’s an additional 20×16 building for MORE car storage, tool storage, and any extra junk you got!

Inside, you’ll realize the “additional storage building” has gone obsolete because the owners display all the junk they own.
Yeah yeah, not ALL of it is junk, but I can tell some of it is dusty and weathered. The stone wall and glass display case are the perfect setting for all those tchochkes!

Welcome to the olden days. Here’s a room that you wouldn’t find today: a green-walled dining room with only wooden furniture, a physical liquor cabinet, and a decorative plate case on the wall.
And while the place you eat is a bit dated, the place where the food is made has a perfect blend with today:

With brown being a primary color of the home, the pops of color from kitchen appliances looks very pleasing to the eye.
Brace yourself… the Time Machine is booting up, as we prepare to enter my favorite room in this house: the primary en-suite bathroom.

Technically, this bathroom is just one part of the primary bedroom suite… but this bathroom is suite-er than the actual bedroom. Like, it’s got a forest green bathtub, a stoned stairway to enter, and wrap around wooden-slat cabinetry.
Other wash-related rooms in this home transport you to the past as well, but on their own terms. They feel slightly modern, while it’s evident that they’ve aged.

Overall, I feel like this place has been less of a “feast” for the eyes and, instead, more of a buffet. I say that because it’s a lot to take in, some of it looks really good, but most of it has been subpar at best. After this “meal,” I need a quick nap…

Truth be told, there’s so much charm in the aesthetic of this home. It’s like if you were to Google the definition of “homey,” this place would show up.

As we are in Montana, it’s important to think about the various seasons we’d endure living here. That’s why, when the snow begins to fall, there’s a sauna to warm us up!

Outside, when it’s not super chilly, the acres of land are bit more bareable.

Described as an “expansive,” the deck offers plenty of non-grassy space, including a hot tub and gazebo. When you wanna be one with the outdoors… take a short walk over to your private pond:

I can only imagine how serene it must feel to pedal-boat across your pond, on your land, in the middle of nowhere. On that land, “approximately 2/3 of [it] is in tall grass, making it ideal for horses or livestock”.
“What livestock?” You ask me.
I respond, “Neigh.”

Oh, and there’s deer. But we’re in the forest, so we already expected that.

From above, we get a better idea of how huge this property is, how seduced it is, and how I could only withstand being away from civilization for so long. So, power to whoever wants to live here! ‘Cuz it’s surely not for me. Maybe I’d stay for a short weekend trip, but that’s all.
