What else are high ceilings good for?

Unassuming. That’s how I would describe today’s single-family home, in a neighborhood of similar-looking single-family homes.

But, per usual, there’s much more than meets the eye…

Located on a winding, hilly road in Beaumont, California, this 4-bed, 3-bath property is lined with vinyl floors, metal pipes behind the walls, and metal pipes in front of the walls.

Why? Because fun doesn’t stop just because you pay a mortgage and an HOA.

Steampunk is alive and well in this house! And while this is only the entrance’s living room, we’re only getting started. For me, the most impressive part of this design is the use of the high ceiling -which is typically under-utilized in McMansions like this. But here they guide the eye upward with the speakers, screen, and even embossed wall decals. Heck, even the upstairs railing matches that main wall. It creates this grandiosity that makes me picture suburban raves with the whole neighborhood moshing across the floor.

You can‘t tell me that this firefighter’s pole doesn’t have a dual purpose that involves dancing.

A calmer derivative of the theme is displayed in the living room. There are still plentiful gears, grey, and gold, but it feels toned down -perfect for a space meant for relaxation.

Make meals in a kitchen that’s reminiscent of the 1990s, but still has the techno flair creeping in (re: the wall decals near the room’s entrance). Apparently, there’s a walk-in pantry to couple with the copious amount of cooking space this room provides.

The decor of this staircase gives the appearance of one found in a much larger, much grander home. I’m not saying that it’s out of place, but I am saying that it’s adorned with opulence.

Before we head all the way up the banister, let’s check out the home’s crown jewel: the garage.

Keep the cars outside! ‘Cuz inside, the garage has been decked out with custom lights, bar, and jacuzzi. There isn’t an inch uncovered with whatever this gothic, steampunk, science-fiction vibe is.

Remember when I called this a single-family home? Well, I didn’t just call it that due to its category of home. There’s evidence of a family (including children) that lived here:

My favorite part of this room is the total use of the space, similar to the rest of the home. Yes, this is themed for a child, but they didn’t skimp out with the elevated bed with matching rug and wall decals.

While not dressed as a bedroom, I assume this eclectic space is one of the bedrooms. I’m not sure what this has been repurposed for, but the theming is for sure jarring.

Note: there are no photos of the other two bedrooms included in the listing. This means that either the files corrupted… or maybe their designs were a little less family-friendly for a housing website? Honestly though, I have no idea why.

Outside, the property’s 0.32 acre lot really shines: an inground pool with a waterfall slide, grill, bar top, covered patio with a fireplace, and plenty of space to enjoy the sunny rays of Southern California.

Who would have guessed the rollercoaster ride this home was going to bring us on? Not me, but probably you -as we do this sort of thing every week. Well, until then, have a good one!
